What Can You Do
The public reporting of marine animal emergencies is one of the limitations for the regional networks. Beach-goers, boaters, and anyone who spends time on or near the oceans must know who to contact in the event of seeing a marine animal incident. Being the “eyes on the water” and knowing how to report an emergency is a great way for everyone to become engaged and contribute to marine conservation efforts. It can also be an incredible opportunity to experience marine wildlife. Check with your regional response network for educational, volunteer, and training opportunities near you. Volunteers and donations are the foundation of all of Canada’s response teams, and they are grateful for your support!
